Don Reece, 94, passed away March 17, 2022 at Cobblestone Crossings with his family by his side. Don was born to the late Ervie and Clara Marie (Moseman) Reece on March 7, 1928, in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Don graduated from Riley High School, class of 1945. On December 11, 1954, Don was united in marriage to Carmeileta Tague and together they raised their family on the Clay/Vigo County Line. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. Don loved horses, pulling ponies, his dog, and watching basketball. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and especially enjoyed one of Carmie’s home cooked meals. He attended Oak Hill Community Church.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carmeileta Reece in December of 2021, and two children, Stu Richard Reece, and Belinda Sue Reece Butt.
Don is survived by his daughter, Shelly Ream and husband Brian of Clay City; grandchildren, Keith Butt (Billie Jo), Kimberly Butt, Kyle Butt (Alyssa), Jason Reece, Jeremy Reece (Elaine), Jonathon Reece (Bryanna), Lauren Ream, Kristen Ream, Logan Ream; great-grandchildren, Nathan Butt, Silas Butt, Timothy Butt, Anna Butt, Peter Butt, Adelia Butt, Corbin Reece, Caleb Reece, Connor Reece, and Rylie Reece; his son-in-law, Duane Butt and daughter-in-law, Connie Reece; brother, Jack Reece; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation will be held Monday, March 21st at Oak Hill Community Church, 10055 St. Rd 46, Terre Haute, IN 47802 from 11-1. A funeral service will begin at 1 P.M. officiated by Pastor Mark Grayless. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Oak Hill Community Church, 10055 St. Rd. 46, Terre Haute, IN. 47802 or to the Light House Mission, 1201 S. 13th Terre Haute, IN. 47802.
